Level 4 lockdown restrictions: Exercise allowed under these conditions

Minister Dlamini-Zuma indicated what movement will be allowed during the level 4 lockdown as of 1 May 2020. There’s some good news for those wanting to go for a run or cycle. There was a lot of speculation among runners and cyclists about what the easing of the lockdown would entail. Those taking to the streets to walk, run and cycle must adhere to social distancing. So there’ll be no organised training runs or rides for the foreseeable future. In addition to not being able to run or cycle in groups, those looking to exercise will need to wear a cloth mask while out and about. Dhlamini-Zuma explains:“You can cycle, run and walk. But it’s within your neighbourhood, within a 5km of your home. You aren’t allowed to do this in organised groups. This can only take place between 6:00 – 9:00.” Between 20h00 and 05h00, people will need to stay at home under curfew, the minister said.
