Christian Coleman banned for 2 years

2020-10-28
World 100m champion Christian Coleman has been banned for two years after missing three drugs tests. The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) body, which combats doping, had provisionally suspended the 24-year-old in June for a whereabouts failure and upheld its decision on Tuesday. The unit said it banned the American sprinter for two years, until May 13, 2022, because of three violations of doping control rules. Three whereabouts failures in a 12-month period is considered an anti-doping rule violation. Coleman missed tests on January 16, 2019, and December 9, 2019, and he had a filing failure on April 26, 2019.Coleman now has 30 days to file an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
